Default Priority of a skill balance

Should priority for skill balances be done by attribute or profession?

Which is the higher priority out of what's fun, what's the easiest to fix, what professions are used the most, or which attribute/profession needs the most changes?

It doesn't really matter. If all we get now is 10 skills being 'balanced' every 6 months, it's pointless and time to move on.

I think they should be done by what affects it has on the mobs, not the players. For PvP, certain classes shine more in 8v8 than they do in 4v4(see Paragons).

Congratulations you figured it out! The reason that updates are so haphazard, ill organized, and ultimately unsatisfying is because it is in fact the GW Guru community itself that are doing the updates rather than an organized and official group.

As a universally respected contributor to these forums I suppose I can let out some of the secrets of how we go about skill balancing. First we collect every thread and post that expresses disappointment with current 'balance' and any suggestions of balance. We then roll randomly and whichever post it lands on, that is what we change and if it is an idea, no matter how bad it is, we go with that!

So now you know the secrets of how GW is balanced.

even though i support the general idea behind this thread, i don't feel that starting a new one was needed.

This. Anet obviously doesnt care about skill balancing if it takes them half a year to get out one update.

ANet very much cares about skill balancing.

Only problem is that Dervs/Motivation/Mesmers are so utterly clusterf****d into a corner by game design decisions that the Live Team is just too damn scared to tackle them. Way easier to deal /w hammers and tactics than with Motivation or Mysticism @ this point.

I'd prefer it be by attribute.

The answer is quite obvious if you review prior skill updates...

Guess it's back to AP spam and Discord. And here I was, having fun.
